California is on a roll right now, with a succession of superb wines, from vineyards dedicated to pushing quality ever higher. Visitors often note a pastoral, "laid back” approach to viticulture, but behind that lies some of the greatest vineyards and wines on the planet.
The weekend begins with the Peter Michael Winery spring dinner where you will have the rare opportunity to try the latest and back vintages of Peter Michael wines perfectly matched with a five course dinner. Compare and contrast established wines such as Ma Belle-Fille Chardonnay, with the new vineyards from Sonoma Coast – Le Caprice and Ma Danseuse Pinot Noirs. View menu
Saturday begins with a generous breakfast followed by a Californian wine tasting where you will have the chance to taste and purchase over 50 Californian wines from various regions throughout California. Peter Michael Winery, Benovia, Ferrari-Carano, Waterstone, Honig Vineyards and Rudd Estate will be but a small selection of bottles being opened. The winery owners and representatives will also be there too so feel free to ask them anything about their wines or even just life in California’s wine country!
After an afternoon of wine tasting, relax in the hotel or take a stroll if the weather’s behaving itself and get ready for the five course discovery dinner where five of California’s well known wineries will host the evening along with James Hocking, Vineyard Cellars’ Director of Wine, showcase their favourite wines and give you an insight into why their wineries keep ahead of the vinous world.
